Stuff I use and other things I recommend.
I get asked a lot about the things I use to build software, stay productive, and creative.
Workstation
16” MacBook Pro, M1 Max, 64GB RAM (2021)
Amazing performance and battery life. I’m still not used to the new keyboard but I’m getting there.
Samsung 49” Odyssey OLED G9
I don’t know why I thought I needed a 49” monitor but I’m not complaining.
Apple Magic Trackpad
It just works well with macOS and I like the gestures.
Herman Miller Aeron Chair
I'm sitting most of the day so I might as well be comfortable.
Development tools
Sublime Text 4
Best simple text editor out there. Great for string manipulation.
Warp
Pretty cool terminal with ai that predicts what you're going to do next and helps with autocomplete. It also shows you how to use commands you're not familiar with.
Jetbrains: IntelliJ and Webstorm
Hands down the best IDEs for JVM languages and Javascript.
Altair
Great GraphQL client that makes debugging a breeze.
MockApi
Great tool for mocking APIs. I use it for testing and for building prototypes. It's free and easy to use.
Localstack
Localstack is a great tool for mocking AWS services locally.
Productivity
Alfred
MacOs app that makes it easy to launch apps, search the web, and automate tasks. 10x better than Spotlight.
Notion
Notion is in my opinion the best note taking app out there. I use it for everything from taking notes to managing projects. It's also great for collaborating with others. It now has ai built in and exposes an api so you can build your own integrations.
Raindrop Bookmark Manager
An all-in-one bookmark manager. I use it to save articles, videos, and other things I want to read or watch. It runs everywhere.
ClickUp
ClickUp is a great project management tool. I use it to manage my client projects, workspace and ecosystem.
